*Cultural Arts- This is a big department with many options including; scrapbooking, pottery, arts and crafts, leathercraft, printing, painting, drawing, ceramics, folk art, basketry, stitching, drama, clowning, music, duct tape, barn quilts, digitally generated art, and blacksmith.

*Photography- All about the photos! Adjustable and non-adjustable cameras, and video production.

*Computer Projects- This department is all filled with computer-related projects and geospatial.

*Woodworking- Just about anything you could think of made from wood. Kit projects, bookshelves, toy boxes, chairs, tables, birdhouses, games, etc...

*Electricity- These projects really light up... If it requires electricity to operate you can find it here. Posters explaining how it works, circuit boards, and test lamps.

*Plant and Soil Sciences- These projects all involve crops; fruits, vegetables, field crops, and weed management.

*Flowers and Houseplants- These projects include; flowers, plants, plant crafts, landscaping, and fairy gardens

*Natural Sciences- Birds, entomology, beekeeping, sportfishing, wildlife habitat, trees, wildflowers, geology, ecology, outdoor adventures, and shooting sports projects are all found here.

*Youth Organizations- This is for our youngest exhibitors, kindergarteners to 3rd graders. They are able to enter any project of their choosing, but they are judged individually (one-on-one judging).

*Mechanical Projects- Aerospace, aerospace launch, kites, bicycles, small engines, models, tractors, Lego, robotics, and welding can all be found in this department.

*Foods and Nutrition- This department always smells delicious! Projects include; cookies, brownies, bread, cakes, muffins, trail mix, pies, candies, cake decorating, canning, jams, jellies, food dehydrating and so much more.

*Clothing- These projects include; bags, shirts, skirts, dresses, and costumes all sown by the exhibitor.

*Knitting and Crocheting- All kinds of different knitting and crocheting projects can be entered here.

*Home Environment- In this department, you can find projects like; models, drawing, quilting, recycling projects, window treatments, silk flowers, and consumer savvy projects.

*Child Development- This department has children's toys, games, books, puppets, storyboards, babysitting, and first aid related projects made by the exhibitors.

*Demonstration, Communication, Writing- Exhibitors in this department do demonstrations, display posters, and enter creative stories they have written.

*Self Determined Projects/Youth Leadership- This department is where exhibitors can show off their leadership skills in club, community, and school events. Also, self determined projects related to other departments fall under this category.

*Health and Citizenship- You are able to find projects related to health, citizenship, intergeneration, international, entrepreneurship, personal finance, and workforce readiness here.
